 The Ramanathaswamy Temple, commonly known as Rameshwaram Temple, is a famous Hindu temple located on Rameswaram Island in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

Deity: Lord Shiva (as Ramanathaswamy)

Significance: One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva and also part of the Char Dham pilgrimage (along with Badrinath, Dwarka, and Puri)

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva here to absolve the sin of killing Ravana, a Brahmin.

The temple is closely associated with the Ramayana, especially Rama's journey to Lanka and the construction of the Rama Setu (Adam’s Bridge).

Famous for having the longest corridor among all Hindu temples (about 1,200 meters)
