Original legend: Said to be built over a structure made by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata


Construction: Made of massive stone slabs over a large rectangular platform


Architecture Style: Traditional North-Indian stone architecture with a conical tower (shikhara)

Open to pilgrims: Late April/early May to November (dates vary due to snow)


Closed in winter: The deity is moved to Ukhimath (Omkareshwar Temple) for worship during snowfall season.

Nearest road head: Gaurikund


Trek to temple: 16–18 km uphill trek from Gaurikund


Other options: Pony, palanquin, and helicopter services are available for devotees who can't trek
