🕉️ Overview & History of Gol Pahari Mandir:-


Also known as Pahari Mata Mandir, it perches ~600 ft high in Parsudih, just east of the city’s main area  .


Founded around 1900, by Ramdai Devi from UP, who dreamt of a stone idol on the hilltop. She found an idol with carved eyes and started worshipping it—later building the temple  .


Unique feature: Only female priests have served since the founder, a tradition continuing today  .

100–200 steps lead up to the hilltop shrine, offering sweeping panoramic views of Jamshedpur and the Tatanagar railway station  .


The main temple is dedicated to the Pahari Mata, but the hill also houses shrines to Shiva, Hanuman, Shitala, Kali, Jagannath, Durga, and Ganesh  .


The hilltop atmosphere is peaceful, with occasional vendor stalls selling offerings/prasad at the base and summit.

Open daily from 6 AM to 6 PM without any weekly closure  .


Timing details may vary slightly, but typically morning session begins at 5–6 AM, closes at noon, then reopens late afternoon till early evening  .


Believed to grant devotees’ wishes; many locals visit during Navratri and May special poojas—long queues are common during festivals  .
